I just can't wait to be king!

Isla is obsessed with this Lion King tape that we have. Yes, tape. I think I have the only tape player left in the world! We listen to this and "the Scar song" about ten times everyday and Isla and Ethan love to sing along to it. Don't even get me started on Hakuna Matata.
I thought it was so sweet that I filmed her singing today.

Red Pines Lake

This one is my favorite. Look at Islas face!!!!!!

We took a hike to Red Pines Lake. It is about eight miles roundtrip. We didn't quite make it to the top. I was worried I would have to carry Ethan down the mountain! It was a really good workout and the children love it. The leaves are already changing and you can tell that Fall is on it's way.

The inside story about the Falcon

We went to Red Butte gardens on Saturday and Ethan got this funny little bird call. He told us he was going to summon  a hawk to be his buddy and we laughed. Twenty minutes later, Ethan and I were hanging out in the backyard. He was playing with his bird call and all of a sudden a small bird drops out of the sky and into my garden and this falcon comes down and lands on top of the kids sandbox not five feet from where I was sitting. It scared the piss out of me. It was huge!!! Seriously bigger than a small dog.
Ethan and I ran inside and I yelled for Aaron to wake up from his nap because there was a hawk outside. He thought I was kidding but after me screaming for five minutes he finally came upstairs and looked out the window. He said, "What the f*** is that."  He wanted to take a picture of it but my camera was in the car. The falcon jumped into my garden trying to hunt the bird. Aaron went to get my camera and the bird flew over our house and into the big tree out front of our house.
Aaron and the kids just parked themselves on the front lawn looking through the binoculars at him. He finally caught a little bird, beat the crap out of it by slapping it against the ground and started eating it in front of the kids. They loved it. I couldn't watch.
Aaron is convinced that Ethan summoned this hawk with his bird call. What do you think?

Crossbow

The crossbow and Gilgal Gardens

We went to the wierdest place on Saturday. It was a sculpture garden in downtown salt lake. It's about 70 years old and some guy made a ton of religious sculptures. They were really weird. Ethan loved the Spinx with George Washingtons head on it.
Sunday we went to the farmers market in Park City. A little old man was selling toys that he had made and Ethan fell in love with this crossbow. I said no, his dad said yes. Guess who won.
Ethan loves it.
