Crazy, tiring, Christmas

We had a great Christmas. Ethan got his bow and Arrow set. Isla got a pink vanity that lights up, Aaron got a Nexus 7 tablet, and I got a gel nail polish kit.
I was sick all of Christmas and the 26th. Bummer. Everyone has really enjoyed their holiday though. We got lots of fun presents and had a lot of fun together.
I have one grievance that I wish to address. People that say that Christmas is no fun without little kids are people that don't have little kids in the house. Christmas with little kiddos is very exhausting, hectic, and frustrating. We had more crying and temper tantrums than ever before. It is way too much stimulation for one day. One minute they are laughing the next they are crying......for no real reason. My sister in law says it gets better once they are teenagers. That's gonna be a long ten years! Also, imagine getting lots of cool presents and not being able to play or look at them until 9 at night when your children go to bed, and even then you have two hours to look at your stuff because you have to go to work the next day.
That's what happens for parents on Christmas. Your children consume your Christmas. Not that I am complaining, I am just very, very grateful that Christmas is just once a year because Aaron and I are exhausted.

Ethan's program

Ethan's program was on Friday and it was so cute. He did a great job! He has really blossomed this year. I have been discussing it with Aaron and I think I might keep him back one more year from school. I just don't know if emotionally he is ready. Or maybe it's mom that isn't ready!

Doing Laundry

Ethan made this clothesline this week and I think it's awesome! What a clever little guy.

Christmas lights

Two weeks ago we took Ethan downtown to see the lights. It was a blast! It was really warm and we walked through CitiCreek. Ethan played with the fountains and lights. We also saw the new Macy's candy window.

Old lady

Ethan took these pics yesterday. I think I look like an old lady but Isla looks cute.

Festival of Trees

We went to the Festival of Trees two weeks ago. Isla did NOT enjoy herself. She is just like her brother and cannot sit still even for a minute. You know, I see those kids, the ones that sit in shopping carts and strollers and I think, those parents don't know how lucky they are. I would love to have a relaxed, easy going child. I bet it's awesome to just throw them in a stroller and have them fall asleep. Must be awesome. My children don't do that, never have, and never will. If I looked in a stroller or car seat and saw them asleep I would think they were dead.
The trees were cool but I don't know if I would ever go again. It was way too depressing. All of the trees are dedicated to children that have passed away. Talk about sad. They all have pictures underneath their tree. I got really choked up at a couple of them. So, I don't know if that's my scene.
